Vigil
“I am honored you chose me as your Xylian companion,” Vigil says as the two of you leave Zee and Hope.
You begin to explain to Vigil how you ended up in Xylian and how you wish to return home. Vigil vows to do his best to help you find a way out and tells you his goals may align with yours. In Xylian, Time is intertwined with Sleep, and as such, Time controls Sleep but is also weakened by Sleep. You learn that there are three undercover organizations in Xylian, all with varying goals but all opposing Time. Vigil confesses that he is the founder of the Somnaie organization, also known as the Insomniacs. He tells you that his group believes that if they can stay awake and accomplish more during the day than Time would typically allow, they can escape Time. You find yourself intrigued by Vigil’s claims and inquire why Time is so bad.
“Time controls our lives and ends up consuming our existence,” Vigil says solemnly.
If you came through the grandfather clock, you will be reminded of the mysterious note left by V, which also spoke of the danger of Time. You begin to wonder if V is Vigil.
The two of you continue walking, both deep in thought. After a while, Vigil tells you that you have arrived. You look up to see a curtain of vines, which you walk through to see a dark and ancient-looking library. As you go inside, you experience a sense of deja vu, as this library looks nearly identical in layout to the one you arrived from. You ask Vigil, who tells you that there is another library that serves as an ancient portal to Xylian, confirming your theories.
As you reach a small table, you see a scroll, subtly glowing, and a rusted lockbox.
Do you pick up the scroll and discover the treasures within?
Or do you examine the rusted lockbox, which could contain untold secrets?
