The Clockmakers

The Tall Grandfather Clock

Walking to your right, you reach the latch of the tall grandfather clock. Strangely enough, the pendulum is not visible, and a mirrored door covers where it should be. The clock reads 11:13. Slightly sticking out of the clock face is a tattered piece of paper. The slightly yellowed paper contains a message in a script, which you cannot make out at first. As you flip it over and hold it in front of the mirrored door of the grandfather clock, the note reads:

To whomever reads this,

Xylian is not what it seems. When you embark on your journey, beware of Time.

-V

You begin to feel the hairs on your neck standing up. Who is V? And who is Time? Nevertheless, you persist. This route may be the only way to escape since the door vanished. Plus, you’re always curious.

A bright light greets you when you open the door. You hesitate slightly but continue forward into the unknown. The light becomes so blindingly bright that you are forced to close them. When you feel the light dimming, you open your eyes to see a vast land filled with clocks. The entire place before you is industrial, with a gothic steampunk architecture style. Behind you is the only place you see any greenery, with a dense forest seeming to stretch for miles as far as you can tell. Looking down, you notice a clock on your wrist, matching all the clocks you see before you.

You begin walking forward, taking in all of the sights around you. A constant ticking sound emanates from the plethora of clocks, which is strangely sinister. You are reminded of the mysterious note from V, which urges you to be cautious in this new land.

You reach a fork in the cobbled path, where three individuals await you.

Do you choose Vigil, the architect

Zee, the one half-asleep, holding what appears to be an alarm clock

Or Hope, the clockmaker?
