The Vanishing Wall

Choosing to ignore the looming grandfather clock on your right, you continue to the wall opposite the door that had just vanished. Maybe the door will appear there when you walk closer. Sure enough, a door appears in front of you. However, it is not the same door you entered through. Engraved on this door is the inscription “What lies beyond lies behind.” You begin to wonder if this alternate door has the same path as the one you entered through, which now lies behind. The only way to find out is to go forward. As you look down to turn the doorknob, another oddity becomes clear. There is no knob on the door. You push on the door hoping for the best; luckily, this does the trick.

You find yourself in a dark corridor. You hear a loud ticking sound to your right, identical to a clock.
